This rambling plant can be found in patches all over The Spit. Many sources refer to it using a common name of "snake vine", however there is another plant growing on The Spit with the same common name, so I will use another of it's common names, the "Golden Guinea Vine".
For those who are interested it's scientific name is Hibbertia scandens, that way there is no doubt about what plant it is.
Flowering occurs mostly during spring and summer, but blooms might be seen all year. The flowers are about 5cm in diameter and have an unpleasant odour.

The fruits of this plant are small, about 2cm in dia., but brightly coloured and very succulent in appearance. They are orange/red in colour, and contain red/brown seeds.
