Painted Spurge




Sometimes called the "Dwarf Pionsettia", this plant is a garden escapee, and is native to South America. Growing only about 70cm tall and in small patches it does not appear to be too invasive on The Spit.

The common name "Dwarf Pionsettia" seems to be an appropriate one, as the commonly grown Poinsettia and this plant belong to the same genus,Euphorbia.

Its' full scientific name is Euphorbia cyathophora. It is an annual that flowers most of the year.
