Originally I thought this was a Hereford bull, but I have been reliably informed by some "bushies", that it is a Hereford cross steer. Us city folk don't notice these things :) My friend and I were out in a National Park, south of Canungra, hoping to photograph wild birds. We had had no luck with them, but when the track opened into farmland, there he was, just waiting to have his picture taken. At least I had something to show for all the walking that day.

Poor poor fellow.Perhaps he is mourning his glorious past, remembering the good times when he was loved and sought after. What a mean thing to do to such a handsome fellow.
It is a very interesting idea to put the photo and the poem together,we both had a good laugh

Great shot Alan and I love the poem. You seem to also have captured his attention.

Proud Bull

I was a proud bull
my hilltop surveyed
and as I walked
my tackle, it swayed

I was a proud bull
the cows I did eye
to sidle on up
and give them a try

I was a proud bull
and valued my gear
but farmers cruel snip
has made me a steer
