These birds love to snuggle up wing to wing, when perched on a branch, like this. If one of the group flies away, the others will shuffle together to close the gap. It is lovely to watch.
Their scientific name is Artamus leucorynchus and their range covers almost all of the eastern half of Australia, as well as the north eastern coastal regions.
During the summer, these birds generally move to the south east to breed, and winter in the northern and central regions.
